As a result of work that was started last year with the introduction
of The Gator Nation theme, phase two of the university’s integrated
identity program is unveiled. The new signature (logo) shown here becomes
UF’s primary identifier beginning August 2006.
The new signature represents the evolution of the previous seal and
wordmark while providing a bold new direction for the university.
The “UF” monogram and the “FLORIDA” wordmark dominate the signature
because they are the terms that most concisely distinguish the
University of Florida from other universities. The University of Florida
seal remains part of the university’s identity system but is reserved
for the Office of the President as well as other official and ceremonial uses.
Every measure has been taken to minimize the transition costs including reusing
building signage, recycling paper and gradually adopting the signature
over the next 12 months.
The new signature is accompanied by a revised standards guide. The guide is posted
at: UF Identity.
Please consult your college or unit communications professional
on the new standards. University Relations also welcomes your questions, call 352-846-3903 or email identity@admin.ufl.edu.
