Option 1 –Employee Allowance/Employee Paid

Definition: A taxable allowance provided to faculty and staff members for the acquisition of the device and the monthly service charges. Please see the Employee Paid Pricing Plans below for negotiated content which will indicate Credit Evaluation as required by Vendor, Calling Plan Selection and Customer Agreements.


Option 2 –University Provided/Corporate Paid

Definition: Departments must maintain documentation of the justification for the staff or faculty members' need for the device as well as require a detailed record of all calls made and received (both business and personal). Calls should only be made or received for official business except in the case of emergencies or special situations, which should be infrequent. The staff or faculty member should reimburse the University for all personal calls. Please see the Corporate Paid Pricing Plans below for negotiated content.
